  • Digital Writing in the College Classroom, Tuesday, November 14th, and Wednesday, November 15th, 12:15 pm-1:30 pm

Digital writing is the art and practice of composition in networked multimedia environments. Whenever we write web essays, online discussions, blog posts, tweets, audiovisual texts, or email, we are engaged in digital writing. In a world where digital literacies are increasingly essential conditions of professional and creative self-expression, we should consider how best to introduce digital literacy into the writing classroom. Come learn easy and effective ways to incorporate digital writing assignments into your course. Faciliated by Kevin Ferguson, Director of Writing at Queens (WaQ).

We are located in the basement of Kiely in room 061. There will be temporary signage to get you there, but best bet is to take the tower elevator (not the one on the hall of classrooms) to the basement and then go straight.

    When: Tuesday, November 14th, and Wednesday, November 15th, 2017, 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: The (New!) Kiely Digital Writing Studio, Kiely 061

  • Kiely Digital Writing Studio Soft Launch, Wednesday, November 15th, 11:15am-12:15pm

You are cordially invited to a soft launch/testing session of the new Kiely Digital Writing Studio next Wednesday the 15th at 11:15 am. During this time the room will be open so you can get a tour. We will also have our Media Services experts on hand to demonstrate the tech and he has asked if a group could help do some user testing. Could you please bring a laptop, ipad, phone, or any other kind of internet devices with you? We specifically want to test how robust the internet is with a group of users, as well as try out methods for projecting the different kinds of devices students would have in the space.
